2015-04-02 -- version 3.5.1
* Updated the cdwrite.conf configuration file.
  Attention: make sure that the new cdwrite.conf replaced the old version.
  To check where cdwrite stores its configuration file use the command:
  cdwrite -c.
* The cdrecord program used with -scanbus option recognizes now the existing
  device.
* Added the -k switch to the mp3gain program normalizing MP3 files which
  prevents automatically clipping audio.
* Constant MP3 bitrates starting from 192 and variable bitrates use stereo
  mode instead of the joint-stereo one.
* Added changing of the MP3 gain (it works with the MP3 files with the
  variable bitrate or the constant bitrate equal 192 or higher using stereo
  mode).
* The default OGG quality increased from 5.75 to 6 for loseless stereo
  coupling.
* The settags program uses now idv3 tagger rather than midv3 because the
  first one creates the tags more compatible with some devices.
* Updated musica and some other scripts.
* Added README.lame+cdparanoia file.
* Updated README, README.bitrates, README.help and cdwrite manual page.
* Changed the convention of the numbering of the program versions.
* The shell and the scripts were roughly tested in Slackware Linux 14.1 and
  Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca.

2012-06-25 -- version 3.5
* Improved the functions creating the ISO images -- now they accept the
  directories names containing spaces.
* Updated README.UTF-8 file.
* The shell and the scripts were roughly tested in Slackware Linux 13.37 and
  Linux Mint 13 Maya.

2012-01-16 -- version 3.4
* The id3mp3 script replaced by the settags script that sets tags in MP3,
  OGG, and FLAC files on the basis of the directory and the filenames.
* The settags script can use mid3v2 script from the mutagen package (see:
  http://code.google.com/p/mutagen/) instead of id3v2 and id3lib packages in
  order to set the valid ID3 tags in MP3 files using UTF-8 encoding.
* Removed the bug causing problems with the normalization of WAV files in
  the systems that use normalize-audio package such as Linux Mint.
* The default normalization method changed from ``separate tracks'' to
  ``the whole album''.
* Added the possibility of running a few instances of cdwrite in the same
  time thanks to the unique temporary files.
* Added gcc4_errors.patch file that allows to perform the compilation of mac
  3.99-u4-b5.
* Renamed some documents.
* Added README.UTF-8 and README.settags documents.
* Updated the documentation.
* The shell and the scripts were roughly tested in Slackware Linux 13.37 and
  Linux Mint 12 Lisa.

2011-07-15 -- version 3.3
* New features: the shell allows to use mp3gain program to normalize MP3
  files without decoding and encoding them; there is possible the
  normalization of FLAC, MP3, OGG, and WAV files in two modes: as the
  normalization of the separate tracks and as the normalization of the whole
  album (so-called batch mode).
* Changes: the shell looks for the configuration file cdwrite.conf in the
  standard /etc directory instead of the non-standard /usr/etc one; the new
  variable mp3_normalization is added to the configuration file; minor
  documentation updates.
* The shell and the scripts were roughly tested in Slackware Linux 13.37 and
  Linux Mint 11 Katya.

2011-07-04 -- version 3.2
* New features: encoding of WAV files or CDs to FLAC files; audio files
  conversions from APE, FLAC, M4A, MP3, MPC, OGG, WAV, or WMA formats to
  FLAC, MP3, OGG, or WAV ones using musica script; normalization of FLAC,
  MP3, OGG, and WAV files volume levels; musica script performs thirty one
  audio files conversions; cdencode script accepts FLAC format; simple
  player plays audio files and audio CDs.
* Changes: flac compression setting and MPlayer speed and cache settings
  added to the configuration file.
* Add-ons: musica.old script provided for the compatibility with the
  systems using the sox program compiled without the support for lame and
  mad libraries.
* Bugfixes: improved function changing the directories; musica script
  includes previously omitted conversions; repaired invalid bitrate entries
  in cdencode script.

2011-06-21 -- version 3.1
* New features: the shell can include CDDB data in toc-files in order to
  write CD-TEXT on audio CDs; it can use oggenc to generate OGG files;
  it can rename WAV files using CDDB data; and it remembers changed
  settings for speed, ripper, encoder, bitrates, and qualities; new options
  allow to remove WAV, BIN, TOC, and ISO files; main menu and its four
  submenus offer help entries.
* Better Linux distributions compatibility: all scripts use now /bin/bash
  instead of /bin/sh; devices names were changed to /dev/cdrom and
  /dev/dvdrw; configuration file uses a list of directories including
  mountable media; cdrdao and cdrecord use reader and witer names instead
  of numbers.
* Configuration: the shell checks /usr/local/etc, /usr/etc, and
  /opt/cdwrite/etc subdirectories for the configuration file; new options
  in configuration file allow: to display generated toc-file, to set default
  ripper and encoder, to set default lame and oggenc qualities or bitrates;
  speeds and bitrates allowed in configuration file were changed.
* Bugfixes: updated toc-file's generator includes tracks lengths -- in result
  it is possible to write indexes and pregaps on audio CDs.
* Changes: default lame bitrate preset was changed to --r3mix; script
  id3v2mp3 was renamed to id3mp3.
* Add-ons: cdencode script performs four different rippings and encodings;
  musica script performs twenty-three conversions from and to different
  audio formats.
* The shell was tested in Slackware Linux 13.1 and Linux Mint 10 Julia.
